Who We Are

We’re all united by a shared passion: bikes. Bikes keep us healthy, carry us from point A to point B, save us from high gas prices, and make our air cleaner and our roads less congested. Bikes fill our lives with adventure and excitement, relaxing our minds and energizing our souls.
Peopleforbikes.org is dedicated to channeling that passion to improve the future of bicycling. Our goal is to gather a million names of support, to speak with one, powerful voice—to make bicycling safer, more convenient and appealing for everyone.
Simply put, we believe that life is far more enjoyable when it’s experienced on two wheels. We believe that by coming together, we can make our world a better place to ride.

There’s nothing quite like the joy that comes from riding a bike. Whether it be on pavement, through dirt, or over rocks. Hopping on a bike is one of life’s simple pleasures. Bikes are a way to get around town, to relax, to have adventures, and to stay happy and healthy. And every time we pedal our way forward, we not only get to where we’re going, but we also show the rest of the world just how powerful human power really can be.

There are countless reasons to ride a bike. Here’s a few you might not know.

Work, work, work.

Eight days strait and a crapload of miles. It has been really good to be off the bike the last two days. I did a bit of acting as a pirate for a friend's Halloween display last night and get to go see how it looks tonight. He had quite a few really good rums and I enjoyed them very much!

Days off.

It seems funny to me that I have put in as many miles on the last two days off just running errands as I would have riding to work. Dentist decided to do my tooth without any drugs today and it wasn't anywhere as bad I thought it would be. The worst part is that I have to go back and do it again in two months because these are just medicated temporary fillings. Marry Xmas early huh? Well at least I am taking care of myself and it is about time.

1:11

One eleven on the ride home and it was 17 miles. Took the bike trail through Roseville today for the first time and I don't know if I was just stoked or if the wind was at my back but it was 3 minutes faster then my best time and a mile longer. Sweet either way though!
